A cozy winter day spent making memories with family and friends enjoying simple pleasures . . . that is what the Pulaski County Tribe elves were dreaming of. So we went to work to create another opportunity for people to enjoy the holiday season right here in Pulaski County!
On Sunday, November 21st, a crowd of over 300 people gathered to embrace the pace and smiling faces of Pulaski County as they celebrated the first annual Hometown Holiday Celebration. Guests were able to enjoy hands-on crafts, partake in some trivia, play board games, visit Santa, savor home-cooked food, listen to the sounds of the season, and support local vendors. Men, women, boys, and girls of all ages filled the room. There truly was something for everyone!
Our goal was to offer a community event that focused on creating simple crafts and connecting with others over a meal or cup of cocoa. No hustle and bustle here! Just opportunities to create some Christmas cheer! Admission was free as well as the games and most of the crafts.
Through this event, PCT chose to support two local programs, Backpack Pantry at West Central Elementary School and FUEL at Eastern Pulaski Elementary School. These programs provide food for children to have over the weekend who may not have it available otherwise. We collected donations from attendees and PCT members. We will deliver a check to each organization and encourage you to think of them in your holiday giving efforts.
Once again, our hashtag #ittakesatribe rang true! The generous collaboration and donation of time and talent made this event possible. This event was made possible by the following and the generous volunteerism of many others!
